Blues Media Player is a free program that can play many multimedia files. This program can play any video or audio file that is saved on any drive in your system. If it detects that you don´t have the right codec to play a file, it will offer you to download and install the K-Lite Codec Pack, which will solve the issue in most cases.
Blues Media Player allows you to prepare playlists that can include any multimedia file, and it will display the properties of those files, including the meta information, not just their names. It may look weird sometimes, as those files that do not include such information inside them will appear as empty. Still, the program will play them well. The program supports subtitles, and provides several ways to control the playback of files. You can even add lyrics to your audio files.
This is a pre-beta release, so you will probably find some problems. Those will surely be fixed in the final product. One of the problems I detected was that the player couldn't always show video in a normal window. However, it displayed it normally when I selected the full-screen mode. The program also hangs if you try to play any .MOV video.
